I am a writer, teacher, and social media marketer. At the heart of these pursuits is making connections and always learning.
My sense of adventure has led me to canoe 500 miles through Ontario to Hudson Bay, direct a fruit tree-planting project on the coast of Ecuador, and win a golden cowbell at a cross-country ski race in Wisconsin. My love of teaching has led me to guide wilderness trips in Montana, teach writing at the University of Wisconsin, and work with youth to create community festivals in Minnesota.
My poems and writing have won awards, been published in periodicals, and been made into songs and performed in an opera. In March 2018, Finishing Line Press published my poetry book, Speak, Cairn. I currently serve as Board Member and Public Relations Chair of the National Association for Poetry Therapy.
I grew up in Saint Cloud, Minnesota and have a BA from the University of Montana-Missoula and an MFA in poetry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I live in Montana with my husband, Andy.
